It's race week in Chattanooga! We are excited you are joining us for the second annual Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee race weekend. In order to help make this weekend go as smooth as possible, I wanted to just share a few things about the schedule and what you can expect.

Registration: Online registration is set to close tomorrow (Wednesday, March 1 at midnight), so make sure and get signed up if you haven’t! We will be reopening online registration on Thursday at 10am, but at expo prices, so don’t wait!

Parking: Thanks to the fine folks at Finley Stadium, we have plenty of free parking all weekend. Please check the parking map on the website for more info. All we ask is that you do not park along the route, this is for your benefit. On Sunday, there will be no parking in lot 3, that lot will be reserved for VIP and Expo Vendors only. There is no parking on the south side of the First Tennessee Pavilion for anyone all weekend.

Expo/Packet Pick Up at the First Tennessee Pavilion: Open on Friday from 3pm to 7pm and then again on Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Don’t worry 5K runners, we are open early for you, from 7am to 8:30am before your run on Saturday. You will need to bring a photo ID with you to pick up your packet. Also, if you would like to pick up someone else’s packet, you will need a copy of their photo ID! We do have last minute packet pickup on Sunday morning from 6am to 7am at the First Tennessee Pavilion. We will also take walk up registrations for all events during expo hours. THERE IS NO REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY, PACKET PICKUP ONLY!

Classic 150 5K on Saturday, March 4 at 9am at the First Tennessee Pavilion: Make sure to arrive early if you haven’t picked up your packet, this time is always a little hectic! Every participant will receive a race shirt, and every finisher will receive a finishers medal. We will have your awards at 10am so make sure and stick around.

Kid's Fun Run on Saturday, March 4 at 11am at the First Tennessee Pavilion: This is a fan favorite! Make sure to bring your little ones to this event, or just come and watch. The GoNoodle 10 minute warm-up will start at 10:45 followed by the race start at 11am. This 1 mile loop around the Stadium is flat and easy to navigate. We will have the entire course lined with staff, volunteers, and police to make sure everyone stays safe. We encourage parents to run alongside their kids if they would like (no need for the parents to register, just the children). Everyone receives a finishers medal and a t-shirt.

Marathon/Marathon Relay/Half Marathon on Sunday, March 5 at 8am: Your day is almost here, but first we need to make sure you get to the start line! The start line at High Point Climbing is about 2 miles from the finish line/expo area. We encourage everyone to park at the finish line and then hop on our shuttles to get up to the start line. This will only take a few minutes and then your car is there at the finish when you get done. We will begin busing folks at 6am and will continue until 7:30am. Athletes and spectators are welcome. We will return spectators to the finish line after the event is underway. Don’t forget that you must pick up your packet at the expo before coming to the start line! Your packets will be at the expo/finish line, not at the race start.

Once up at High Point, do whatever you need to do to get ready for your run. If you want to leave some dry/warm clothes with us at the start line, drop them in the CARTA Breezeway in your clear morning clothes bag and we will transport them to the finish so you can pick them up post race. Our start is self-seeded and you will find pace signs along the chute. Jump in where you see fit and then have some fun! We are fortunate to have a great pace team as well. They will be at the expo answering questions and talking to folks so make sure and say hello.

Relay info: You will have an information sheet in your team’s packet (it’s also online) that goes over all the relay info, how the shuttles to and from your exchange points work, etc. Check that out before the weekend so you know what is going on!

After the marathon/half marathon use your meal voucher to grab something to eat from one of the food trucks (menus in your packets), enjoy a beverage from Coca Cola or Michelob Ultra, listen to some live music and check out the awards at 11:00am (half marathon) and at 1:00pm (marathon).

Any questions, just let us know. We will have an information table at the expo and you are welcome to email us at info@chattanoogamarathon.com and we will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner. If you would like to transfer to a different race, just come to the “Solutions” table at the registration area and we will get you squared away.

Be safe out there and I look forward to seeing you all at the finish line this weekend. Thank you for being a part of race weekend.
